- 2 Ecto-tokens or quest completion of Ghosts Ahoy to walk into Port Phasmatys, or enough coins for a charter ship.

- 200 law runes and 100 blood runes to direct a portal to Kharyrll, or 2000 law runes and 1000 blood runes if adding the portal to a portal nexus instead
- Only a successful climb (not taking damage) will count as task completed.

- If you are boosting with the Dragon harpoon special attack, you need to bank the harpoon before catching the shark. Having it in the inventory will use it by default and it will not count as bare handed.

- Dramen or Lunar staff recommended to travel to Fairy ring code
- Slayer ring recommended for quick access to Tarn's Lair
- Weaponry to fight at range, or means to negate disease (such as Slayer gloves), recommended
- Slayer helmet or nose peg recommended against the aberrant spectres, when climbing the spikey chain on the as a shortcut to the advanced spikey chain
